So Lindz and I went to Supanova today.  There were many interesting seminars, though unfortunately a couple who I wanted to see clashed.
I managed to see Spike Spencer, who had an interesting seminar on "How to be a Frickin Genius Voice Actor," Karl Urban (got autograph and photo!), Tim Sale (who drew/inked Lindz an awesome picture of Batman in the rain), and Dave Gibbons, who spoke about Watchmen and Green Lantern.

They were all very interesting Q&A sessions and funny guys.

Other people I knew of who I didn't get to see were Stanislav Ianevski (Victor Krum in GoF), Jake Lloyd (Young!Anakin in Ep. I) and Christopher Sabat (voiced Vegeta, Piccolo and some others from DBZ).

There was also some dude from Twilight - I'm SO sad I missed his Q&A. /sarcasm

I met Karl Urban.  He's awesome.  I love him in everything I see him in (YES, EVEN RIDDICK.  HE WAS GOOD IN THAT TOO).

Here's a photo <3

Space is disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence! )

All the cosplayers were great fun to look at.  There was a male Princess Leia, which was kind of awesome.  And a tiiiiny Captain Hammer, n'aaaaaw!

That's right, folks! Only FOUR more days until the UWA Pantomime Society's production of
The Phacebook Four and the Rising Phallacy!

It would mean the world to me if everyone would please come along and support us, as we've put a lot of effort into the show, and they're going to be fantastic performances!

A little backstory:
Pantomime is a type of play traditionally based on well-known fairytales etc, which is full of innuendo! (in-your-end-oh!) and general silliness. We encourage lots of audience participation, (including the witty comments of "He's behind you!!" and "Oh no it's not!!") and you may heckle us to your hearts' content.

(Hey! An opportunity for you to yell inappropriate things at Sal and she can't tell you off!)

Our Panto:
All of the superheroes have been kidnapped!! It's up to the sidekicks to rescue them from the clutches of the evil Axis of Awesome!
I play Fangirl, one of the Phacebook Four, (with Lady Euphemism, Captain Obvious, and The Incredible Sulk)

Can we save the day?
Will Tom and the others in the Top Eight of the super organisation, MI Space, finally give sidekicks the recognition we deserve?
Just how deep south is Colonel Angus heading?

There's only one way to find out!

Time: 7:30PM, house opens at 7:00PM
When: 17th, 18th and 19th of April 2008
Where: Dolphin Theatre, University of Western Australia
How: Tickets $10 Guild, $12 Non-Guild. Tickets will be on sale on the Oak Lawn around 1 to 2 o'clock this week, or email uwapanto@gmail.com to reserve. They will also be available at the door, although I suggest you get there in time to go in at 7:00, as seating is on a first-come, best-dressed basis.

Seriously.  How could you resist?

Rotto FTW!
CRACKERS BITCH!!
I sprained my ankle jumping over a fence like a retard, but that was thankfully about five minutes before we got on the ferry to return.

I has a tan! \o/  Yaaay!
I only got very slightly sunburnt on my face, unlike SOME people who looked like lobsters with their chavvy English tourist white-singlet sunburns.

Fun and/or memorable bits included: Convincing leavers that we were also leavers (sometimes from made up schools), getting lost and walking around for four hours and not returning until 3:00AM, barbecue sauce, quoting everything, Monopoly (filthy cheaters!), listening to far too much MSI, the shop owner/cashier who looks like Alan Rickman if he were a bogan, and the Rotto bakery which is totally only in business because of us.

We bought some Leavers 07 stubby-holders.  Hahahaha.
