It was the Cameron Hall charity vigil last night/this morning and I was in charge of UniSFA's screening. I chose vampires as the theme, and we watched a heap of movies (Bram Stoker's Dracula, Let the Right One In, Blade, Interview with the Vampire, From Dusk till Dawn & The Lost Boys) and a few Buffy episodes (The Zeppo; Hush; Buffy vs Dracula & Once More, With Feeling!). People seemed to enjoy it - at least I hope they did. I got home around 10 this morning, had a shower and eventually managed to get a few hours sleep. I'm now still tired but probably won't be able to get to sleep again for a while.

Panto seems to be getting there, though we need to get started on the song and dance soon. We're starting filming for videos tomorrow. Check out the Facebook event.

So Lindz and I went to Supanova today. There were many interesting seminars, though unfortunately a couple who I wanted to see clashed.
I managed to see Spike Spencer, who had an interesting seminar on "How to be a Frickin Genius Voice Actor," Karl Urban (got autograph and photo!), Tim Sale (who drew/inked Lindz an awesome picture of Batman in the rain), and Dave Gibbons, who spoke about Watchmen and Green Lantern.

They were all very interesting Q&A sessions and funny guys.

Other people I knew of who I didn't get to see were Stanislav Ianevski (Victor Krum in GoF), Jake Lloyd (Young!Anakin in Ep. I) and Christopher Sabat (voiced Vegeta, Piccolo and some others from DBZ).

There was also some dude from Twilight - I'm SO sad I missed his Q&A. /sarcasm

I met Karl Urban. He's awesome. I love him in everything I see him in (YES, EVEN RIDDICK. HE WAS GOOD IN THAT TOO).

All the cosplayers were great fun to look at. There was a male Princess Leia, which was kind of awesome. And a tiiiiny Captain Hammer, n'aaaaaw!

I've been watching X-Men the animated series on youtube and have become as addicted as I was when it first came out in the 90s.

I blame rogueambition for letting us watch it during Panto production week in the theater.

Because of this, I'm now doubly psyched for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Omg you guys, I'm so excited! They have Gambit!!! He was always my favourite - I even spazzed out when his name flashed up on the screen in X2 for like two seconds while Mystique looks through computer files in Stryker's office. (Watch the movie, it's there: Remy LeBeau)

So as many of you know, sometimes I like to draw and paint stuff.

This X-Men obsession has crept up on me and wouldn't let go, so instead of doing my essay I drew Gambit:

I wish I could colour with Photoshop or something. Whenever I try, I fail magnificently. Then I could add a charge to the card and make it look pretty. For those who don't know, his eyes are black with red pupils. I left the actual eyes blank for later and forgot to fill them in.

And here's some lineart of the same pic, with my utter fail attempt crosshatching:

Again, the eyes are supposed to be the other way around. Eh, artistic license - plus I've seen heaps of interpretations with red irises. Speaking of this, they completely excluded this from the film. Would it have been that hard? I don't know if you can put colour over the pupil, seeing as the light needs to get in there, but they could've done it the other way with the red irises, no? Ah well.

... Ta-da? Idk, felt like drawing. Thoughts? Comments? Constructive criticism?

So who else is excited for the new Wolverine movie? I've liked all of them so far despite the lack of Gambit, even though the third was a wee bit sketchy I still liked it.

Hey so Panto's coming along. I was cast as Tweedledee XD
I was voted UniSFA fresher rep, (dispite technically being third-year, it's apparently open to whoever's a UniSFA newbie).
I saw Watchmen a couple of times last week. I still have yet to read it, and apparently they left lots of stuff out. But I liked it very much. I want a macro/gif icon to be made of the hair twirl that's used in all the advertisements that says, "Because I'm worth it."

I have lots of reading which I cbf to do :/ To procrastinate, I watched the latest ep of House, M.D. (my comment is the same as usual; funny and awesome, but needs moar Chase). There were bits with Wilson which referenced eps in season 1 - one being monster trucks, and another which might be too much of a spoiler so I won't post - which makes me happy. Hooray continuity! I have S5 of Six Feet Under which I haven't yet watched. Though I'm afraid if I start that, I won't stop, and I need to do my readings/assignments at some point. Eh.

One of my communications units, Designing Virtual Play, looks awesome - we play games in workshops and create them and have a voluntary assassins tournament going on. The other one requires me to rewrite a fairy tale, fable or myth that has some sort of 'significance' to me. Any ideas, people? What fairy tale is significant to me?

Hey guys. I haven't updated in a while, or read my flist in ages. I don't know why - I just haven't been in the mood. So I'm doing a meme to hopefully get me back into the swing of things.

1.) Who is your favorite character from #2? (Angel)
I know he's such a little weemo, 'wah poor me' dude, but I've always had a bit of a soft spot for Connor. And Doyle was awesome in every way (D: RIP Alan Quinn)

2.) Who is your least favorite character from #4? (Dexter)
I never really liked Miguel or Lila all that much. And although I love LOVE Julie Benz in Buffy/Angel, I don't really find her character Rita in Dexter all that interesting.

3.) What would a crossover between #1 and #5 include? (Buffy and Six Feet Under)
I don't know if I could picture a novel-length story, but I'm sure there is potential for a body to wake up while being enbalmed because it's a vampire. Or maybe when the Fishers see their dead dad/cliets, they're actual ghosts. Might be interesting.

4.) Who is your favorite ship from #6? (Firefly)
I don't exactly have an OTP or anything, but Wash and Zoe were the best. Yes, it's canon. Sue me.

5.) If you were to set one person from #3 and one person from #6 on a blind date, who would they be? (House, M.D. and Firefly)
Oh man, that's really hard. Maybe House and Mal just to see all the sarcasm and snark going to work. More for my entertainment than for the possibility of True Love. They could talk about atheism, idk. It might be funny to set Kaylee on House to see House try to upset her (nothin' in the 'verse!). Simon and Wilson could trade tips on how they take care of crazy genius people who never do what they're told and don't follow normal social rules.

6.) If you could meet one person from #4 and spend the day with them, who would it be and what would you do? (Dexter)
Wow, I don't know if I'd actually be liked by anyone in that show. Angel Batista seems the most well-adjusted.

7.) If you could change one thing about #2's plotline, what would you change? (Angel)
I would have extended the last season so that all the loose ends could've been tied up/not looked so rushed - hell, several more seasons would have been great. Also, I would've given Fred and Wesley more time together, if not completely removed... that thing that happened.

8.) Explain a relationship between two people (not necessarily romantic) from show #5 and why you like the relationship between them. (Six Feet Under)
David and Claire's relationship is quite cool. I love the time when David hides in Claire's room because he doesn't want to deal with anyone else. Also Brenda and Billy's relationship and its fucked-upèd-ness.

9.) If the lead title characters (first names in the credits) from #1 and #3 were both drowning, and you could only save one, who would it be? (Buffy and House, M.D. - Buffy or House)
House is disabled, and Buffy's the freakin' Slayer. She can save her own damned self - or save House instead of me doing it, as I'm sure she'd be a better swimmer. :P

10.) If you could change the title characters' order in the credits for #4, what order would you choose? (Dexter)
Um, why? I don't even know the order after Michael C. Hall (the credits are just so cool to watch!)

11.) If you were able to add a new character, any kind of character you wanted, to the storyline of #6, what would the character be like, and what would their role be? (Firefly)
Maybe someone for Jayne? She could be another 'public relations' person and share his interests. Jayne shows her 'Vera' and she in turn introduces him to 'Michael' or something, idek. Maybe she'd be the complete opposite of him an hilarity could ensue.

12.) What happens in your favorite episode of show #2? (Angel)
Oh God, how can I choose just one? Well, 'Smile Time' because - in the words of Whedon himself - "Dude, puppets!" 'Spin the Bottle' was a great way to show how they've all changed over the years - and showcase Silly!Wesley again. 'Hero,' because Doyle is awesome and brave and Dooooyle! ('Our rats are low-' 'rates.' 'It says rats!') and 'A Hole in the World' because I love the range in the episode from the stupidest Cavemen vs. Astronauts argument in the beginning to utter tragedy at the end. And the Fred and Wes interactions were heart-breaking and wonderful.

13.) If you could kill off one of the characters in #1, who would it be and how would you do it? (Buffy)
Wow, all the ones I want dead are usually villians and end up that way eventually, so... Maybe Drusilla, though she's awesome, so that there'd be Spike!Angst and maybe Angel and Spike having a Moment even though they really dislike each other.

14.) If you got the chance to visit the set for either show #3 or show #5, which would you choose? (House, M.D. or Buffy)
Probably Buffy, since House is mostly offices and ORs, whereas Buffy has a lot more variety in its locations.

15.) If you could date anyone from any of these shows, which show and which person would it be?
I have no idea. Maybe Spike (Buffy, Angel) because he's reliable and loyal. Also? Hot. The obsessive thing might get a bit weird, though. Also the evil, undead, blood-sucking thing. Xander (Buffy)is obvs a funny guy, and (mostly) loyal aswell. Wesley's pretty awesome too, tbh (also Buffy & Angel). I also like Chase (House, M.D.) even though he's a bit of a suck-up. He makes some very funny and shrewd comments or observations, more than he's really given credit for in a fandom which pretty much revolves around House/Hugh Laurie and how hilarioius he is. ~~He also has very nice hair.~~ In conclusion, I'm adding every character from every show to my list.

Well there you go! I hope to update again soonish. I've just started uni again, which is stressfull what with panto getting underway and all. This one is called James Bond in Alice's Wonderland and should be very good. (It'd better be; I'm producing)
I saw FOB a couple of weeks ago. I love them and they are awesome. Read up on some of the more crap bits here. Coming home that night(morning) to a house that had been broken into was less awesome. Only one thing has been taken that we can tell, which wasn't very expensive or anything, but I think they kicked my dog or something. >(

The night before last I had a dream, and I think my subconscious is trying to tell me something. It wasn't a bad dream. It was quite a good dream, in fact.

Okay so a lot of things happened in this dream of mine, but one of them was that I auditioned for NIDA. And I got in.
So throughout my dream I'm spazzing out, thinking I'm going to NIDA and just celebrating in general.

And then I woke up and came back to reality and was like, fucking damn it. Maybe this is telling me more than I want to think about right now.

My Panicobracademy update is still coming. It's gonna be so old news by the time I actually get around to it. Ah well.

So I saw All Shook Up last night, presented by Mesh Theatre Company, which a friend from Panto was in.

It was awesome!!! :D It's a musical which incorporates heaps of well-known/loved Elvis Presley songs. (Kind of like how Mamma Mia is filled with ABBA) Based in part on the stories of 'Twelfth Night' and 'Footloose'. It's showing at Perth Convention Centre. There are two performances left, both of them tomorrow (Saturday 6th Sept '08) at 2:00PM and 7:30PM.
